Breeding Advice

WSI helps members with their breeding and sport programs, and offers a range of education and training programs each year to accomplish that goal.

For member seeking bespoke, individualised assistance with their breeding programs and stallions selections WSI offers on-line and on-farm services.

On-line breeding advice from a WSI inspector for Irish Warmblood mares and Approved Mares is offered free of charge. If the mare is a Studbook Mare a small fee is charged.

On-farm breeding advice from a WSI inspector for Irish Warmblood mares, Approved Mares, and Studbook mares is also available. One or two inspectors will visit your farm, inspect your mares (in not already done), and offer you stallion recommendations for each mare. The inspectors can also inspect foals and older progeny. We find it is particularly useful to the breeder when there are two or more progeny from each mare available for viewing, as this gives the inspector(s) greater insights into the traits the mare herself passes on to her foals.
